We are extremely proud of our faculty and staff at Ari Guiragos Minassian School.
Our teachers bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our school. Read on for

Kohar Zaher

- M.Sc. in Plant Pathology and B.Sc. in Agricultural Engineering from American University
of Beirut.
- Science and Armenian teacher at A.G.Minassian School since 2006
- AGM Education Committee member 2002-2006
- Principal at ARS "Sevan" Chapter Saturday School since 2004
- Armenian teacher at the same Saturday School since 1989
- Worked in Research Laboratories at University of California, Riverside 1988-2005
in the Departments of Nematology and Entomology.
- Teaching Assistant at AUB for undergraduate students 1980-1983.
- Current executive member of Hamazkayin "Siamanto" Chapter, member of ARS
"Sevan" Chapter, past member of ARS "Kedashen" Chapter, past
executive member of Forty Martyr’s Apostolic Church Ladies’ Auxilliary.

Margo Baghjajian

Mrs. Baghjajian has been with A.G. Minassian since 1989, as the school secretary.
Her voice is usually the first you hear when you contact our school. She is responsible
for many duties and interacts on a daily basis with the children, staff and parents.
Margo's organizational skills and dedication to our students are a tremendous asset
to the school.

Astrid Ashkarian

Mrs. Ashkarian began her teaching career as a music and dance instructor.
Through the years she has held various teaching positions, most notably working
for 12 years as a head pre-school teacher. She has received her degree in Early
Childhood Education and has been at A.G. Minassian for 10 years as our Pre-K 2 teacher.

Talin Wartan

Talin Wartan has been a PK2 Teacher's Assistant from 1999-2007 . This is her second year as a PK1 teacher . She has received her degree in Early Childhood Education and currently obtaining her Preschool Director degree. She has been teaching kindergarten and first grade Armenian language at ARS "Sevan" chapter for the last two years. She is married and has three children.

Amberly Rivera

Mrs. Rivera has a multiple subject credential and a masters of education in cross-cultural
teaching. She has taught 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade in the Orange Unified School District
public schools. She is married with three kids.

Ani Geloyan

This is Mrs. Geloyan's 5th year at A.G. Minassian and her qualifications
include a bachelors degree from Haigazian University in Beirut, as well as a bachelors
degree from the American University of Beirut. Mrs. Geloyan has taught Armenian
language and Armenian History at various educational institutions.

Karin Cemcem

Graduated from Cal State Long Beach in May 2009 with a degree in English. She is currently enrolled in the Credential program at CSULB to receive her single subject English Credential. She joined AGM in September 2009 as a teacher's assistant to kindergarten, 5th & 6th grade classes.

Kelly Koopman

Koopman has been teaching Kindergarten at A.G. Minassian since the 2006-2007 school year. Miss Koopman
has received her Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studes, her Multiple Subject Credential, and her Master's
Degree in Curriculum and Education from California State University of Long Beach. She enjoys working
with children and continues to pursue more knowledge about teaching.

Rebecca Johnson

Mrs. Rebecca Johnson has a Bachelor of Science in Child and Adolescent Development and a Multiple Subject Credential from California State University, Fullerton. She began teaching first grade at Ari G. Minassian School in 2006 and currently teaches first and second grade. She plans to return to CSU, Fullerton next fall to pursue a Masters in reading.

Russell McCall

Russell McCall first taught at A.G. Minassian School for four years
from 2004 to 2008. After a year of experience with teaching in the inner city (Compton
Unified School District), he is excited to return to A.G.M. He has earned a Bachelors
Degree in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton, and a Masters
Degree in Fine Arts from Chapman University. He has also earned his teaching credential
from California State University, Long Beach, and recently he earned a G.A.T.E.
Certificate from The University of Southern California. He has also taught oversees
in South Korea and Japan, and he enjoys traveling and learning about different cultures.
He is currently the 5th and 6th grade multiple subjects teacher at A.G. Minassian,
and enjoys spending time with his wife and three dogs.

Talin Artinian

Miss Artinian has been with A.G. Minassian as both an aide for Pre-K
1 and as Armenian language instructor for students in Kindergarten. Her previous
experience includes teaching Armenian religion and language in Syria. In 2005, she
completed her certification in Early Childhood Education.

Gohar Alexanians

Mrs. Alexanians graduated from Russian music school of Yerevan. She
moved to United States, in 1991, and has been a private music instructor for the
last 15 years. She has been teaching music and art at ARF Sevan chapter for the
last 5 years, and recently joined the A.G. Minassian School, in 2008.

Mrs. Kouyoumdjian joined the AG Minassian Pre-K teaching staff in January 2009.
She has a bachelor’s degree in Math and a Teaching credential from The University
of Aleppo, Syria. Besides her teaching experience, she held several volunteer positions
in different Armenian organizations working with different age group children. Currently,
she is working hard to get her certificate in Early Childhood Education.

Margo Bartoumian

Mrs. Bartoumian has been providing hot Armenian lunches for students
since the establishment of our school. Whether its letsoug (dolma) or the occasional
pizza (so its not Armenian, but the kids love it!), her meals are tasty and nutritious.
She is currently the owner and operator of Ararat Restaurant in Anaheim, California.
